Websites are the foundation of a law firm’s online presence. Mockingbird designs and develops websites for small and large law firms alike. We build exclusively on the WordPress platform and host our sites on a managed WordPress host – “WP Engine”. WordPress gives you the power to easily edit your own content with resources from millions of other WordPress users. WP Engine gives you peace of mind with fantastic support, daily backups, and best-in-class speed and security.
Unlike many providers, when we build you a website – you own it. Our team creates custom law firm websites with your clients in mind. Our first rule is to have your phone number at the forefront of every page on your site. Potential clients should not have to spend time searching for your contact information. Remember that while the website is the foundation of your online marketing, making your phone ring requires an ongoing investment in search, content and advertising.
Websites Built to Succeed
Our law firm websites cover everything that is important for your business to succeed online and in search. You will have a hard time finding another vendor that covers all these bases. Many web designers fall short on the SEO front. Other major vendors cover most of these important aspects, but retain ownership and control of your website. We make sure you own everything and have the power to edit your own content. Mockingbird provides the foundation for a strong search engine presence and further SEO work/optimization. Our websites ensure that your potential clients can contact you easily. Read more about our web design best practices.
Websites and SEO
Many vendors pitch “SEO-optimized” websites with the (empty) promise of throngs of prospective clients arriving from Google and Bing. Think of your website as a car and the content, links, citations, etc as the SEO gas. A solidly built website platform is essential for success; however, without an ongoing investment in your site’s authority and content, you shouldn’t expect an influx of search engine-driven business. Some vendors even charge ongoing costs for “SEO” when all they’ve delivered is a well built platform. Know what your are buying and remember, without the gas, that brand new Audi S5 with leather interior, heated seats and touchscreen navigation, is just going to look pretty in the garage – no one is ever going to see it.
Responsive Design
Responsive web design, means the design/layout will change and respond to the screen size of the visitors device. Google checks to make sure websites are mobile-friendly and tags them as such in mobile search results. We only create responsive web designs, ensuring the huge portion of mobile web users can find and use your website with ease.
Multi-lingual Websites
Leveraging a law firm’s multi-lingual capabilities is a highly effective marketing strategy. Done correctly, this requires more than posting a simple ‘espanol’ page – but instead a comprehensive native language translation, implementation of canonical language tags and multi-lingual site structure. Mockingbird’d clients benefit from multilingual campaigns implemented through the advanced WordPress Multi Lingual Plug in. The result – a steady stream of prospective clients your competition can’t even speak to.
Pricing
Projects start at $10,000 and increase depending on scale, complexity, and the number of different custom page types. We have developed a wide array of projects up to $50,000 and can provide a quote based on the investment required for your project.
Turnaround
From kick-off to site launch, most projects run 10-12 weeks; although if you are particularly persnickety about design or take a long time to respond to creative comps, this can run longer. We can also rush launch websites when necessary – we once launched a site in less than 24 hours (read about it here: What to do When FindLaw Pulls the Plug on Your Website).
Our Process
1. Contact us for a website audit and quote.
2. Meet with your Designer/Developer and Account Executive for a strategy and design kickoff. This is an in depth meeting and covers roughly two hours. We want to build you the custom website that best portrays your business.
3. Receive static desktop and mobile homepage mockups from our designers and time for choices, revisions, edits.
4. Once approved, design is developed on the WordPress platform. All content is migrated and redirected(if necessary). Google Analytics and any important services are kept intact.
5. Once the development site is approved, we launch your new site!
6. This could be a one off design project – or a continued marketing relationship.
7. We don’t have a design portfolio because we keep our client list private with legal market exclusivity. Contact us for examples.
